The EsiObjects Architecture EsiEnterprise: Goals and Non-Goals

• Goals:

  • Overall, implement a prototype to demonstrate integration of data from disparate data sources, specifically VISTA and CHCS.
  • Use EsiBuilderTools to generate object wrappers for VISTA.
  • Implement SOAP compliant XML data formatting of data.
  • Integrate systems using the CORBA communications ORB.
  • Implement a simple PIDS interface to a simple MPI for demonstration only.
  • Implement data aggregation at the application server level.
  • Use the Easy CHCS Provider Portal for display of data.

• Non-Goals

  • No attempt has been made to integrate a VA or MHS Master Patient Index. A simple hardwired MPI is used for demonstration only.
  • No attempt has been made to use lexical services.
  • All possible data elements are not exposed.
